The panellists discussed a variety of topics ranging from the origins of the Declaration of Human Rights, its successes and failures, as well as how the Canadian government has drifted away from a leadership role on the human rights front.

Over two years, more than 50 economists have worked to find the best solutions to ten of the world's biggest challenges. During the last week of May 2008, an expert panel of 8 top economists, including 5 Nobel Laureates, sat down to assess the research. They chose as the most promising solution of those submitted by experts from around the world the work of Dr. Sue Horton for combating malnutrition in children through the provision of micronutrients.
